Converse employs several security methods designed to prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information. Any personal data collected based on your use of the site will be stored in a database located behind a firewall for increased security.

No data transmission over the Internet or over a wireless network can be guaranteed to be secure. Therefore, while we try to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. We are not responsible for the illegal actions of third parties.

We do not encrypt normal web sessions, however, any transmission of credit card information to the La Converse website or service uses SSL encryption to help protect the data. All donations made through laconverse.fundjournalism.org are processed directly by Stripe, which follows the security standards described here.
